Made it to Georgetown, SC November 20, 2011

We were able to leave Beaufort on November 14th with a brief weather window and made it to Georgetown, SC on an overnight offshore trip of 180 miles and arrived around 12 noon on the 15th with favorable currents in Winyah Bay assisting the 12 mile inland trip.  We are leaving the boat for the holidays. See you folks in Florida shortly.

At Coinjock, NC and heading south! November 6, 2011

We actually got underway after a long stay at Great Bridge and made it to ICW mile 50.  Tomorrow is the big jump.  We need to go about 80 miles which is the bulk and the most challenging of the trip through eastern NC.  Here are some pictures along the way.  As you can see in some of the pictures below there are a lot of boats on the move.  We all sort of jamb up at the swing bridges.

Still at Great Bridge, VA November 4, 2011

We are still here.  After checking the prop a few days ago it still had problems so we ordered a new on and had it installed on November 2nd.  So Jabberwocky was on the lift again!!

On the lift

Shiny new prop

Mean while with the delay and major low pressure system formed and is moving across the North Carolina coast and we lost our weather window to move south on the ICW.  The weather should settle by Sunday and we will get going again and plan to be in Beaufort, NC on Wednesday November 9th.

So we are watching the boating world pass by the marina.

We will try to give a weather update tomorrow.  The big winds are coming from a high right behind the low.  The sounds we need to transit south of here are wide open to the forth coming NE winds.  The expect gusts to 50 tonight along the coast.  The map from the NOAA weather site below shows the areas of gale force winds in purple and storms force winds in violet on the ocean for tonight and tomorrow.
