July 30, 2009, Wood's Hole, MA

We finally sailed out of Narragansett Bay, R.I. and headed out to the ocean. We have been having continuous weather systems coming through every other day and kept on the bay rather than venturing out to the islands south of Rhode Island. Yesterday we crept out of the bay with fog and visibility of a mile so we headed out and sailed along the foggy coast to Wood's Hole. We are in a lovely anchorage with several other sail boats and a luxurious yacht.

During the past week in between weather systems lots of boats were capturing the wind and getting a few hours of sailing on the bay.

We saw some 12 meter yachts racing on the bay.

We were sailing behind this boat which looked like a Chinese Junk

Small ferry boat transporting passangers between the islands where we a presently anchored.

Last night a large yacht anchored not far from our boat. Woods Hole is in the background.
