Provincetown, MA 8 August 2007

A great bronze statue in front of the public library called "The Tourists".

Many harbors have offered the opportunity for you to go out on a lobster boat for a few hours and collect lobsters. We like this sign because they are offering an "interactive experience".

This is a classic schooner that was built inside the Provincetown Library, children's section-it is built to half scale of a working schooner. The schooner was literally built in the library and the roof of the library had to be modified to fit the top of the schooner mast as you can see in the picture.

The library shelves contain children's books as well as information about the building of this schooner.

The schooner is in the Childrens of the library and they have a teddy bear on the keel as a mascot.

Joyce and I spent the afternoon at the Cape Cod Lighthouse in North Truro. This is the oldest lighthouse on Cape Cod. It was originally built in 1779, reconstructed in 1857 and moved back to a safer place from the receding cliffs (453 feet) in 1996

This is a scene of the Atlantic Ocean from the lighthouse.

The Highland Lighthouse.

A camera shot from inside the lighthouse light. This light can be seen from 23 miles out to sea.

This is a picture of Pilgrims Monument in Provincetown last night in the fog. It was taken when we peek out of the boat at around 10 pm.
