Provincetown, MA 7 August 2007
We were greeted this morning with thick fog and calm seas in the crowded harbor. Yesterday's winds picked up to a steady 18 knots with wind gusts up to 25 knots, so many boaters took refuge in Provincetown Harbor. The weather forecast predicted heavy rains and thunder, but we really had a quick shower with no thunder and lightening. After the fog lifted we played "tourist" in Provincetown and browsed through the many many art galleries along Commercial Street. We plan to stay here until Thursday when the weather will be more favorable to sail Cape Cod Bay to the Cape Cod Canal and then through Buzzards Bay to the Sakonnet River.
A foggy harbor with boats swinging on their moorings.
By noon, the fog lifted and you could see Wood End light house on the tip of Cape Cod.
The fog shroud lifted so you can see the boats rocking on their moorings.
