Erie, PA is an interesting town and is the third largest in the commonwealth.
Stayed at a great new modern marina call the Bay Harbor (http://bayharbormarina-erie.com/) . Had excellent service from the Operations Manager, Heidi Schlabach. The marina is so big that she was constantly shuttling us around in her car or golf cart. Everyone was extremely helpful.
Visited the local maritime museum (http://www.brigniagara.org/ ) which is focused on the Great Lakes battles of the War of 1812 and particularly the activities of Commodor Perry. Had and very interesting personal tour of the exhibits by one of the volunteer guides Jack. The Brig Niagara is the center piece of the Museum's activities.
Here is Joyce with the museum's fish.
Here we are at on of the exhibits
Gordon by a picture of a major battle scene.
We had lunch at a local place call the Rum Runner. The thing that was a pleasant surprise was 50 cent beer and Labatts at that!!
Weather continues to be a problem. A front went through this afternoon and now it is howling outside. Strong winds may persist tomorrow from the north and go to the northeast which is the way we need to go. Our next stop is Dunkirk, NY

Looks as if you got to see a great maritime museum, 50 cent beer can’t beat that. Hope your sail on to Dunkirk NY is uneventful.

Gordon, you're never smiling in any of the pictures. Joyce always looks like she's having a great time. You need to show us that you're enjoying your retirement as well.

Gordo not smilin? That's cuz while Joyce is takin' all these great pictures, Gordo is changin' the oil, fixin' the head, and swabbin' the deck! Other than 50 cent beer, what's he got to be smilin' about?
(Just kiddin') The adventure looks great so far, and you haven't even got to the good part. Good luck as you go, and we'll be following you along the way..... with our bags full of envy!
Take care.
